TRANSCRIPTION
What is transcription?
tran·scrip·tion (trn-skrpshn) n. The act or process of transcribing. Linguistics - A representation of speech sounds
in phonetic symbols. Basically, the "writing down" or typing of audible speech from an audio source, (i.e., an
audio cassette) to paper or an electronic file (i.e., a Word document).
We transcribe from audio cassettes (standard size and microcassette) and digital media (emailed or CD files, including
AVI or Quicktime, and MP3).
Usually the content consists on one-on-one interviews, speeches, lectures, notes, focus groups, etc. but any type of audible
recorded speech can be transcribed from audio to text.
We can then provide high-quality printouts, cd's with files or emailed files (including .doc or .txt) of our transcripts.
